Prerequisite – Basic Throwing: Level 1
Service Description
In this 4-session course students will learn the process of making plates/ low profile dishware on the wheel, trimming and decorating using slip and underglaze. Underglaze is a great way to translate imagery with vivid color on ceramic ware. Week 1: Throwing plates/ low profile dishes on the wheel Week 2: Trimming, adding handles and slip application Week 3: Discussing underglaze, what it is, how to use to create depth of color and illustration Week 4: Decorating and working on the finishing touches Course fee includes 10 pounds of clay, tools, all glazes and firings, plus additional 35+ Open Practice hours in which students are encouraged to practice and play.

We understand that life can throw curve balls and that there will be times when students will find it necessary to change their class bookings. Similarly, Pottery Works strives to bring you the region’s best, most skillful instructors, and we truly value their time and commitment to teaching in our studio, so while we cannot not offer refunds for missed classes, we are willing to work toward rescheduling services (once only), provided we are given 72 hours notice.
